The Marketing Zen Group Is Looking For Fall 2013 Interns!

Internship | Marketing ZenHave you ever noticed that nearly every entry-level job in the current job market requires you to have plenty of experience before you can apply? That’s because experience is key! While you can learn about digital marketing or writing for the web in a class at college, it’s not until you get out there in the field and put your knowledge to work that you really get a feel for what is really happening in your industry.

Often times, some solid experience at a great company within your industry may even be enough to land you your dream job in the future. Therefore, if you are a college student whose graduation date is starting to inch closer and closer, make sure you have the experience and skills necessary for your upcoming job hunt.

The Marketing Zen Group, an award-winning digital marketing and PR company based in Dallas, is currently looking for a solid team of college students or recent college graduates to intern with our company this upcoming fall season. Through our various internships, you will be able to gain valuable first-hand knowledge in the world of digital marketing, and even work closely with the leaders of our SEO, content, social media marketing and management departments―all while still in your pajamas! SEO Department: Community Engagement and Content Writing Intern

Are you a creative, resourceful, error-free writer? Are you able to work with a steep learning curve and take independent initiative? Are you eager to learn about the ever-evolving Search Engine Optimization (SEO) industry? Then you may be a fit for our content writer/community engagement internship. Our interns work closely under the supervision of the Search Engine Department, and tasks will include everything from content composition to digital relationship building.

Although we do prefer previous internship experience or academic experiences in journalism, marketing, editing, and creative writing, it’s not required. If you crave a creative, challenging work environment and know you can bring dependable work ethic and a collaborative personality to the MZ family, show us what you’ve got! Social Media Department: Social Media Marketing Intern

Is social media your life? Do you physically cringe when a business has a Facebook profile instead of a page? Are you the mayor of all your friends’ houses on Foursquare? You just might be the person we’re looking for! We’re hiring a social media marketing intern for The Marketing Zen Group. This person will be responsible for researching, creating, implementing, and measuring engaging social media strategies to meet the objectives of each of our very, very different clients. You’ll work closely with the Social Media Lead, Account Supervisor, clients, and all other branches of the company.

Applicants should be working towards a degree (or have a degree) in marketing, communications, journalism or related field. They must also be able to work virtually. Content Department: Web Content Writing and Blogging Intern

Do you love to write? Does it make you cringe when you see someone slaughter a sentence using poor grammar? Do you have a knack for research?  We’re looking for a virtual content marketing intern for the fall of 2013. In this role, you will help to produce web content for a diverse group of clients and assist with developing blog content, web content, bios, newsletters and more. You’ll also work closely with the SEO and SMM teams to coordinate these efforts and learn the important role each element plays in our marketing strategy and planning.

To qualify, you must have or be working towards a degree in journalism, English, communications or marketing, have excellent writing and research skills, have experience writing various types of copy, be deadline driven and have the ability to produce quality content quickly. Administrative Department: Research and Administrative Intern

Do you enjoy conducting research? Are you reliable, self-motivated and eager to learn? If so, you may be interested in applying for our research and administrative internship with MZ’s VP of client relations. Your role will be to conduct research and create documents, assist in developing marketing strategy for our clients, as well as help to manage internal communication and organization workflow. You definitely won’t be fetching coffee or dry cleaning, but rather working on real projects that matter and help our clients reach their digital marketing goals.

To qualify, you must be currently enrolled in college and classified at the sophomore level or higher. You must have demonstrated administrative skills, must possess excellent, intermediate level or better computer skills, strong analytical skills and be detail-oriented. Please note that all of our internships are unpaid, but are highly-competitive and can be used towards earning college credit.
