As a person who opts in to a lot of offers, the most annoying thing is a sender who abuses the privilege and sends way too much email. I think once a week is the highest frequency I can tolerate.

It is very important to follow all spam rules and regulations. These days it can be more than just having your account shut down.

Wonderful information.
It is such a curious thing; Michael Martine (Remarkablogger: http://remarkablogger.com/2009/09/08/the-10-smartest-things-you-can-do-to-promote-your-new-blog/)and Jonathan Fields (AwakeAtTheWheel:http://www.jonathanfields.com/blog/pr-social-media-gone-bad/)also have topics that are addressing this same "issue" area.

I hope it is permissible etiquette to mention this interesting coincidence. I think you readership would find the discussions most interesting.

Also, the "ShareThis" and "TellaFriend" buttons are something I was so glad to discover. Now all I have to do is figure out how to get them onto my website and blogs. I'm such a newbie. Oh well, more to learn. Thanks so much.

As an Email Manager, I cannot stress how important it is to test email in the live environment. Yahoo, Gmail, and Hotmail all have different 'quirks' and its important to see what your customer might see.

Also spell check, spell check, spell check!!
