Those are great tips! Thanks for sharing!
These tips are excellent. I will be sure to share them with others, especially my friends new to Twitter. Thanks.
Sincere~
@joshonefitness
Nice extensive list. I wasn’t aware of the power that Twitter holds. That is a list that could be applied to forums as well.
Use your real name. << Love it! People are people, not machines…
I can speak to #44 personally, I recently got asked to speak at a conference after a Twitter exchange!
Great post!
You got some really great tips. Just started reading your blog but loving what I’m reading
This list is incorrectly titled. It should read, “101 Reasons to Follow @ShamaHyder on Twitter”
Shama, this is an outstanding post. The Tweets that let me know what a person is cooking for dinner are a waste of my time so I always make a point to be relevant. You’ve given me some great new ideas. Thanks for taking the time to write this.
…And another don’t: try to refrain from ‘drunk Tweeting.’
Seriously, I’ve found Twitter to be a fantastic business intelligence tool – http://smub.it/jlj/twitterbiz and a great all-round marketing tool – http://smub.it/jlj/twitter
Thanks for the List – it’s a great starter kit tool.
@janetleejohnson
It’s amazing that there is already a 101 list and most people have never even heard about Twitter. Great blog. @GoodIdeas
[...] Shama has one of my favorites this week with ‘101 Ways to Rock and Be Rocked by Twitter’ – I was rocked – great post if you ever wanted to know what twitter is all about. [...]

Great info! Thanks for sharing
this is really cool. i have tweeted this one
Many Thanks
krish.
Thanks. This is a great list. Coming from someone who knows nothing about Twitter, I now have my printed 101 ways before me to help me get this whole thing figued out!
Shama, thanks so much for the great list! Delicious here I come…
Absolutely fantastic list. Thank You!
Twitter does not ‘rock’. The analogy ‘does not hold water’. Twitter has ‘jumped the shark tank’. I am certain I could go on, and on, and on with the analogies & metaphors.
Sometimes Twitter feels like a chamber of commerce meeting. Everyone attending is there to ‘sell’ to each other.
What business person who is successful in a non-publishing industry has a list that exhaustive? How can you focus?
Oh – look, there’s the line for the Kool Aid.
Awesome list! Will be linking to this for sure! Already tweeted too! Great example of an excellent link bait piece.
Loved the article, and Re-Tweeted it!
Thank you!

I am printing this out as I type, Shama! It is now my Twi-Do-List!!!
Sarah
Shama…you’ve done it again. Outstanding list. There are a few nuggets in here I never considered. I think I like #100 the best – be a person. What I love about Twitter is (crazy as it sounds) is how human it is. You really can pick up personality traits and form relationships with it.
Keep up the great work.
Joe
This is an outstanding list. Thanks for such careful preparation. I’ve found it useful for myself and will be sharing it with others, especially those who are new to Twitter and say, “huh, you do what?”
Shama,
Twitter is still new to a lot of people in public relations and marketing. I’ve posted your 101 tips on the Facebook page I share with 12-13 other grad students who are taking a masters program in Strategic Communications at National University.
Wonderful ideas.
Vince
So glad you liked this post. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
@flip – you make some very valid points. Twitter definitely isn’t for everyone and it CAN be very loud. It is MUCH like a chamber of commerce, but even those provide value for those who attend the meetings regularly and get to know the folks. thank you for your comment!
@VinceReardon – I appreciate you sharing this post.
Great stuff Shama. Twit on!!
Great list though I disagree with the auto direct message. While it may be a pain I believe a personal direct message to your followers will go a lot further than a “thanks for following”. Remember Twitter is all about exchanging value with your followers.

Can’t remember where I found this link but glad I did! Great info includsing it looks like some recommendations of some great twits to follow!
Thanks for such a great post with 101 points to follow. It was very informative and though 90 of them are in my strategies the other 11 weren’t so I can implement at least eight of them.
It is so much a part of the daily routine it has become very handy. For everything from being social, sharing exciting information, sharing experiences, sharing empathy as needed, and the privilege of sharing the excitement of a man immediately after his first son is born.
You did a great job encapsulating things in a clearly communicating style. Once again ty!
Thank you for these 101 tips… some great info you shared.
( Must admit that there is still so much good content already that it would take me ages to go through all of it!
I just wanted to say that I found your Shama TV very informative as well as this blog as well!
Hope to see more good content soon..
Thank you so much, Shama, for these invaluable tips and for your inspiring talk on the Creative Career Telesummit! I also really enjoyed your video on the 3 Twitter dont’s. Thanks again!!
